Prayer Request

Well, my time has come to an end. I start back to work, tomorrow, 08/11/08 and John L will be going to a private sitter. I am so thankful to have a wonderful, Godly woman who is going to be taking care of my little guy. I also know that God has an amazing plan for my family, I can't wait to see how it all turns out. Please keep my family in your prayers as we all start our new adventures, me as a working Mother and John L as he begins his daily routines without Mommy by his side.

UPDATE...

His appt w/ Dr. Cory went better than I expected. Then again, I had no idea what to except. He received 2 shots. The first didn't even faze him, now with the second one, he turned real red in the face and let out two big grunts... and believe it or not, that was it! My prayers had definitely been answered.
Dr. Cory also weighted and measured John L. He came in at 13 lbs. and 13 1/2 ounces and he measured at 24 inches. Needless to say, Dr. Cory's comment was "be prepared to have those "Coaches" knocking on your door". That just lit Jeremy up!
I feel very blessed to have a very healthy baby boy.

SHOTS!!!

Today we go visit Dr. Cory, http://www.lakesidepeds.com/, for our 2 1/2 Months check up. Unfortunately, John L will be getting his round of shots today. My heart is already breaking knowing that he has no idea what is to come. Please keep us in your prayers today. Thankfully, Jeremy is going with us, so I don't have to experience this "adventure" on my own.

John L. and Luke Newell

2 1/2 Months and 4 1/2 Months

While on vacation, Steve and Dee decided to take a little vacay themselves. We decided to get the two boys together for the first time and I think they really hit it off. I can't wait to see them grow up together.

BOCA GRANDE 2008

This was John L's first trip to Boca Grande. He loved every minute of it from swimming, riding the golf cart, riding on Daddy's boat to putting his feet in the sand. I am looking forward to next year when he is up and walking.

MY SLEEPING PRINCE

Some of My First...

The first time in my swing. Now that I am older I don't like to be in there as much...
My first bath... I LOVE bath time.
My Nana picked out my outfit just for my Daddy on his first Father's Day. "COOL Just Like Daddy"... So very cute!

Sorry I haven't updated John L's pics in a while, our computer crashed. We finally have our new one in and I have a lot of catching up to do, so many pics of my little man that I want to share with everyone. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Our First Family Pictures

Today was a BIG day for all of us....."family pics", especially for John L! He was a good sport though, a little bit of crying, a lot of sucking on his binkie and lots of cuddling. We finally got through it and some awesome pictures were taken. It is amazing when you want your baby to act/smile on command it is like they are laughing in your face thinking "yeah right mom, not happening..." hehe. But all in all it went well and we were able to get some really good pics but only after we had worn him out and he fell fast asleep...! Unfortunately, at this time I don't have any of the pics to download but just as soon as I get them I will post them, I can't wait to see all of them. Our appointment to view all pics will be 08/07. I know it seems like forever from now, but we are leaving Sunday for our first family vacation, 2 weeks in Boca Grande...I CAN'T WAIT!

I want to give a special thanks to Beth Carter, Beth Carter Photography. Thank you for your patients and your amazing ideas. I can't wait to see all the pictures you took of my little boy.

Also, a special thank you to Lee Ann for allowing us to use her house and yard to take our pictures.

OUR NEW ADDITION

John Lamar Barnes

Born: 05/25/08
4:08 PM

Weight: 8 lbs 12 oz

Length: 21 inches

I was due on May 17, 2008, when that day passed I literally thought he would never come out. On May 24, 2008, I was due to go into LRMC to be induced, the only catch was that we were to call first to see if they would even have a bed for me. Jeremy and I prayed and prayed that they would be able to take me in b/c we so badly wanted to deliver our baby boy. Thank goodness our prayers were answered. I was induced at around 7 PM and my water broke (all on its own) at 4:30 AM on May 25, 2008, and that is when my labor began and OH BOY did it start! I had horrible back labor, so bad I could not lay down. I finally decided to get some pain medication, Newbane, and that worked for the next 2 hours until I received my Epidural, which was about 10 AM now. Dr. Caravello informed us that I was about 5 cm and that I would probably only dilate about a cm an hour. I was laying there still in pain for the next hour, so the Anethesologist came back in and gave me another dose of the goods, of course right when he left I then felt the urge to push. Lee Ann went to get the nurse, who then came in to check me and sure enough I was at 10 cm and it was only 12 PM, I was a little faster than Dr. Caravello had expected. Lee Ann ran out to get Jeremy who was in the Cafeteria eating with my family and Lori ran out to get Mendy, my mom was already in the room with me. Everyone made it back in time and I began to push. I pushed for 45 mins when the nurse decided that I should hold off on pushing for about an hour, so that the baby could move down more. I then began pushing and pushed for the next 3 hours. Dr. Caravello decided to take him by forceps b/c he was not coming out on his own. He came out literally doing the Gator Chomp (Dr. Caravello graduated from UF - he and Jeremy hit it off to say the least)! Come to find out the reason why I was having such horrible back pain was b/c he was face up and that would also explain why he was not coming out. John L was finally born on May 25, 2008 @ 4:08 PM.
