PUMPKIN PATCH

This was John L's first time seeing a Pumpkin, touching a Pumpkin and yes, I do believe there was a moment where he tasted a Pumpkin... LOTS of drooling going on! It is just great having a best friend who dabbles in Photography. Thank you Lori for taking these precious pictures of John L in the Pumpkin Patch. I can't wait to see the pics you take of him next weekend in his "Albert" costume :)

4 Month Doctor's Visit... YES, SHOTS again!

Can I first say that we absolutely LOVE Mrs. Cynthia Wallace! Mrs. Wallace is the Nurse Practitioner that Jeremy and I have chosen to be John L.'s Pediatric Doctor. His actual Pediatrician is still Dr. Matthew Cory, unfortunately he wasn't available a couple of visits ago and that is when we met Mrs. Wallace and we have been with her ever since.

John L. is in the 75th percentile in Weight and Height and... are you ready for this...???
He is in the 90th percentile when it comes to the circumference of his head!!! hehe

Mrs. Wallace is not concerned that he is this big so early b/c really... look at his father :) He is just going to be a big boy and hopefully a B-I-G Gator Football player!

Family Night

Once a month my family (Yongue's & Brown's) gets together to celebrate birthday's, anniversary's and life. I look forward every month to our little family reunion. I can honestly say that my Aunt's and Counsin's are fun and crazy and I wouldn't want it any other way... John L is the first great-grandchild and great-nephew, so YES, needless to say, he is a little LOVED (a.k.a. spoiled) hehe.

Christmas... ARE YOU READY?

Since our family is growing and the economy is the way it is... it is time to start changing traditions... just a little bit. With the Barnes family having little John L. and my cousin Lindsey getting married this year (welcome to the family Jon), my Aunt Lorna in a wonderfully serious relationship with an outstanding gentleman and my cousin Lauren dating a guy that everyone loves, our family is getting so big that we all agreed to draw names this year. And yes, when I say everyone is drawing names even John L. drew a name!

My FRIEND Blake... he is the sweetest, funniest and

"BESTEST" friend in the W-H-O-L-E world :)

I LOVE MY BUMBO!

John L loves sitting in his Bumbo and I must say I love him sitting in his Bumbo too. It gives Mommy time to cook, do laundry, make the bed, fold the laundry, put up the laundry...
you get the picture.

One BIG milestone and many more to follow!

Watch me... I can turn over!

Note: When listening, please try to tune out my oh so southern accent...it is awful, I KNOW!

I am thankful that I was able to experience one of my son's many milestones. Being a working mother, I know that I won't always be with him when he does many of his firsts. So, to be home with him for the first triumph filled my heart with joy.

John L.'s first cold

It must be that Mother's Intuition I hear so much about... I knew my baby wasn't feeling 100%. After about 5 days of him sounding congested, Jeremy and I decided to call the Pediatrician and after describing his symptoms over the phone, they told me to bring him in. I thought he had a sinus infection, little did I know babies haven't yet developed their sinus cavities, therefore my diagnosis was incorrect. I must say though, I would have been right had his sinus cavities been developed...hehe :) He was definitely experiencing the sinus drainage in his throat which was causing him to cough and sometimes choke. Thankfully though he never ran a fever. Dr. Cory was not available to see on 08/30, so we saw Ms. Wallace, NP. She was wonderful and we will ask to see her every time Dr. Cory is unavailable. Ms. Wallace prescribed Saline Nasal Drops and that was it. What a relief!

While there they weighed and measured our growing little or should I say BIG Boy...

14 lbs 12 oz
25 inches

The BIG 30!!!

August is a BIG birthday month! Not only is it a big birthday month every year, but this year was the really BIG one!!! The BIG 3-0...

Happy Birthday to Me 08/18, Mendy 08/20 and Lee Ann 08/21.

Our husbands and our best friend, Lori, planned a memorable birthday for all of us. Unfortunately, the original plans they had for us included dinner at the Capital Grill and drinks and dancing at the Martini Bar, but that had to change. With Mendy being sick w/ morning, afternoon and evening sickness (oh YES, she is Pregnant w/ #2), her son Blake not feeling well and our son John L not feeling really well (Jeremy and I were thinking he was coming down with his first cold) we were not wanting to go far (yes, we think Tampa is far), so with all of us putting our party hats on, we all agreed to stay in Polk County to Celebrate our BIG 3-0. We had a fabulous dinner at the Terrace Hotel and then we headed off to the Blue Moon a.k.a YP's (for those of us who are old enough to remember YP's...hehe). But of course we all got a little bored just standing around like a bunch of old people... So, after talking it over we all headed off to the Dallas Bull!!! WOW, I could sit there all night and people watch! What fun!!!

I want to thank my wonderful husband for a wonderful birthday. You made it very special and I thank you for thinking of me and wanting me to have a special day. I will never forget this birthday. I love you!

The Fabulous LIMO... thanks guys!
And a special thank you to my dad.

Where did Dana come from...hehe :)

Our "BOX" having LOTS of fun and making LOTS or memories!

Our First Day...

I really thought this was going to be the worst day EVER, but... it actually went very well. Even though I had the biggest lump in my thoart while driving to work after dropping John L off my first day back at work was some what liberating and John L adapted just fine at Mrs. Debbie's. Getting home after work was like having Christmas in August. Holding him, my little gift from God, in my arms was the best gift to have after being away from him all day. With Jeremy and I being working parents, I think we have adjusted very well with managing our careers, our home, our family and our life in general.

Prayer Request

Well, my time has come to an end. I start back to work, tomorrow, 08/11/08 and John L will be going to a private sitter. I am so thankful to have a wonderful, Godly woman who is going to be taking care of my little guy. I also know that God has an amazing plan for my family, I can't wait to see how it all turns out. Please keep my family in your prayers as we all start our new adventures, me as a working Mother and John L as he begins his daily routines without Mommy by his side.

UPDATE...

His appt w/ Dr. Cory went better than I expected. Then again, I had no idea what to except. He received 2 shots. The first didn't even faze him, now with the second one, he turned real red in the face and let out two big grunts... and believe it or not, that was it! My prayers had definitely been answered.
Dr. Cory also weighted and measured John L. He came in at 13 lbs. and 13 1/2 ounces and he measured at 24 inches. Needless to say, Dr. Cory's comment was "be prepared to have those "Coaches" knocking on your door". That just lit Jeremy up!
I feel very blessed to have a very healthy baby boy.

SHOTS!!!

Today we go visit Dr. Cory, http://www.lakesidepeds.com/, for our 2 1/2 Months check up. Unfortunately, John L will be getting his round of shots today. My heart is already breaking knowing that he has no idea what is to come. Please keep us in your prayers today. Thankfully, Jeremy is going with us, so I don't have to experience this "adventure" on my own.

John L. and Luke Newell

2 1/2 Months and 4 1/2 Months

While on vacation, Steve and Dee decided to take a little vacay themselves. We decided to get the two boys together for the first time and I think they really hit it off. I can't wait to see them grow up together.

BOCA GRANDE 2008

This was John L's first trip to Boca Grande. He loved every minute of it from swimming, riding the golf cart, riding on Daddy's boat to putting his feet in the sand. I am looking forward to next year when he is up and walking.
